Year 5/6 Maths Curriculum
For Maths, we use the White Rose planning which is then supported using other planning resources such as Classroom Secrets, Maths Target, NCTEM and the Maths Hub.
Times Tables
We have a school subscription to Times Tables Rockstars which is an online program which children can play games and compete to have the quickest time. From year 4, children should be able to answer multiplication questions up to 12 times in 6 seconds and this website supports this. You can access TT Rockstars on a computer, tablet or phone. https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth

A popular game in Y5/6 is called '4nums' https://www.4nums.com/ where the children use their knowledge of the four operations to make the anser 24 using each of their given numbers.
Mathletics
'Mathletics' is the online maths hub where I will be setting additional challenge maths homework. The children can take booster lessons and play maths games. The great thing about Mathletics is that there is a mini lesson before the homework which explains to you and the children what they will need to do in addition to the children being able to practice before submitting the homework.
Another fun way to learn times tables is through songs, below I have linked youtube videos of some great ones.
