Maths

Year 4 Maths Curriculum

For Maths, we use the White Rose planning which is then supported using other planning resources such as NCTEM and the Maths Hub.

Times Tables

We have a school subscription to Times Tables Rockstars which is an online program which children can play games and compete to have the quickest time. In year 4, children should be able to answer multiplication questions up to 12 times in 6 seconds and this website supports this. You can access TT Rockstars on a computer, tablet or phone. https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth

You can also find some great, quick and easy mental maths games at: www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/7-11-years/times-tables.

My Maths

'My Maths' is the online maths hub where I will be setting maths homework and the children can take booster lessons and play maths games. The great thing about My Maths is that there is a mini lesson before the homework which explains to you and the children what they will need to do in addition to the children being able to practice before submitting the homework.

Another fun way to learn times tables is through songs, below I have linked youtube videos of some great ones.

To see any more information about the methods we use to teach subjects in maths please see the school calculation policy which can be found on the website: key information --> policies --> calculation policy
